There is ‘no excuse’ for Melbourne Anzac Day parade not to go ahead

Melbourne Legacy Chief Operating Officer Ken Tsirgotis says the cancellation of the Anzac Day parade in Melbourne should be reconsidered given Premier Daniel Andrews announced the easing COVID-19 restrictions.

“The Anzac Day march not only should but must proceed, it is a very important part of Anzac Day and it enables veterans and their families to take part,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

Mr Tsirgotis said the march was the “practical application of the freedoms” our veterans and currently serving personnel have fought for and the march “must happen”.

“There is no excuse now why the march shouldn’t happen and it must happen.”
