Fallout of surviving COVID-19: A third receive neurological or psychiatric diagnosis

About a third of COVID-19 patients are diagnosed with mental health or neurological conditions within six months of catching the virus, according to new research.

The colossal study, published in The Lancet Psychiatry, used electronic health records of more than 236,000 patients to make their findings.

The researchers found 33.62 per cent of patients had a neurological or psychiatric diagnosis within six months after catching the virus.
