‘Drastic’ report reveals cemeteries are running out of space

A “drastic” report has revealed that if no action is taken now or within the next three years, Sydney’s cemeteries will run out of space, according to Cultural anthropologist Dr Hannah Gould.

“What that means is that you can go out today and purchase a grave, but if, say in 10 or 12 years, you want to purchase a grave when someone’s died that you love, you will be unable to do so,” Dr Gould told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“Simply because we haven’t given enough priority to finding new spaces for cemeteries.”
