The COVID-19 outbreak on Sydney’s Northern Beaches has grown to 17 cases, with residents being advised to follow a number of public health measures for the next three days in a bid to stem the spread of the virus.
New South Wales Health issued a public health alert on Thursday, stating the 17 cases includes those that were diagnosed in the area yesterday.
The alert asked for residents residing in the Northern Beaches Local Government Area – between The Spit and Palm Beach, to follow a number of steps over the next three days.
These included: working from home and remaining at home as much as possible, as well as not visiting friends or relatives in aged care facilities or hospitals unless essential.
Also, to avoid unnecessary gatherings, to keep within your household group, to avoid visiting high-risk venues including gyms, restaurants, clubs and places of worship and to also avoid unnecessary travel outside the Northern Beaches area.
