Chair of the AMA NSW Council Dr Michael Bonning says, though the infection and testing numbers have been great amid the Sydney coronavirus cluster, the problem of where the cluster started is still “hanging over us”.
New South Wales recorded nine new cases of COVID-19 overnight from 60,00 tests conducted to 8pm Wednesday.
Discussing whether New South Wales was now on the brink of containing the Northern Beaches cluster, Dr Bonning said it is a “tricky statement to make when we don’t have all the cases accounted for as to where they’ve come from”.
“We’re getting there,” he told Sky News host Chris Smith.
“But we still have this thing that’s hanging over us which is where did this cluster start from.”
