Sky News host Chris Kenny says former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd was “dishonest” in his latest campaign against News Corp.
“Now as you know we like facts on this program; we love debate; we love contention,” he said.
“But you’ve got to marshal factors in your argument – especially when you’re dealing with issues as sensitive as a global pandemic.
“Kevin Rudd tweeted today – part of his ongoing campaign against News Corp which owns this station of course – he showed a series of front pages which he called a tabloid protection racket.”
Mr Kenny said Mr Rudd compared the front pages of News Corp owned newspapers with front pages from The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age – alleging only the latter displayed news about the “vaccine setback”.
However, Mr Kenny said Mr Rudd was being “dishonest” showing those front pages without revealing there was a wrap-around on papers across the country which led with the AstraZeneca vaccine story.
“Rudd has failed again in his dishonest … campaign. He is doing the misleading – not those newspapers,” Mr Kenny said.
