Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine approved for use in Australia ahead of rollout | ABC News

One year to the day since the first case of COVID-19 was diagnosed in Australia, and the first vaccine against the deadly virus has been approved for use by the health regulator.

The jab, developed by drug manufacturer Pfizer, will be rolled out across the country from late February.
But, just hours after the Government delivered the good news, concerns about a new strain confirmed across the Tasman prompted it to suspend Australia’s travel bubble with New Zealand.
