The Pedalz Up program is the brainchild of Sergeant Mick Newell, an avid cyclist who also runs the Logan Police-Citizens Youth Club.

Over eight weeks, four to five young youths work alongside police officers to restore and refurbish recycled bicycles that have been seized by Logan police and have not been claimed from the property lock-up.
