The 60,000 coronavirus tests which New South Wales racked up yesterday demonstrate what happens when a willing public is paired with one of the world’s best health systems, says Sky News host Chris Smith.
“Today our past testing tallies were blown out of the water by a number no health official could have predicted,” Mr Smith said.
“In the 24 hours to 8pm last night, New South Wales residents … racked up more than 60,000 tests.”
Mr Smith said “this is the kind of outcome you get” when there are two significant factors working together.
“A very willing public, desperate to expose and kill off the virus … and working with that motivation is one of the world’s best health systems,” he said.
“When this bio-security nightmare is nearing an end – hopefully sometime next year – we’ll look back on these days as turning point in the tough fight against this very stubborn invader.”
