Tasmanian Labor leader Rebecca White says the upcoming state election is one which is more focused on the last seven years as opposed to the last seven months.
The state’s surprise election is set to go ahead on May 1.
“I think for many Tasmanians, the impact of COVID hasn’t been as severely felt as mainland states,” Ms White told Sky News.
“What they’ve wanted to see the government focus on – particularly over the last six months – has been a return to the delivery of services.”
She said while the state has seen a “reasonably good response” to the coronavirus pandemic, there are still economic and social impacts being felt in the community.
“[They] need a comprehensive response from government, and we’re not seeing that leadership from the Liberal Party.”
