The possession of all illicit drugs could soon be decriminalised in the ACT under a new bill to be introduced to the legislative assembly.

The proposed laws would allow police to deal with those found in possession of small amounts of methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and ecstasy with a $100 fine, rather than through the court system.
But the opposition has criticised the bill as rushed and lacking proper community consultation.
