Former White House staff member Barbara Heineback says the impeachment push against former US President Donald Trump seems to be the work of Nancy Pelosi’s “anger”.
Mr Trump was impeached for a second time after being accused of inciting the attack on the Capitol in Washington DC.
“To me, it still makes no sense at all,” Ms Heineback told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“I look to Alan Dershowitz, I mean he is the guru and most esteemed constitutional attorney that we have in the United States – and it is unconstitutional to impeach an ex-president”.
“So this seems to be a work of just Nancy Pelosi’s anger,” Ms Heineback said.
Sky News host Chris Kenny says it seems to him it would “have worked” for President Biden to “drop the impeachment as an act of unity and move on”.
“But I don’t think he would have been able to hold back a lot of his people up on the hill,” Mr Kenny said.
