There will be no change to the Australian Open in the light of a confirmed COVID-19 case with up to 600 casual contacts associated with the event.
A 26-year old man from Noble Park tested positive for coronavirus after developing symptoms following an initial negative test.
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said there is around 600 people – “either players and officials and others – who are casual contacts.”
“They will be isolating until they get a negative test and that work will be done tomorrow so it may have an impact on tomorrow’s play in the lead-up event,” he said.
“At this stage, there’s no impact to the tournament proper.”
