The Australian’s Cameron Stewart has recounted the way he and his family were caught up in Perth’s three-day lockdown and the poor and confusing messaging from health and state officials.
“My wife… went to a drive-in test and then she isolated in a room of our house. We got no guidance from health until about 6PM that night when a text came through saying she should isolate,” he said.
“They didn’t say anything about what I should do or anyone in the house and it wasn’t for another 24 hours… that we got a call from a health official saying… we were all effectively under house arrest.
“In the morning, two health officials knocked at our door and I asked them the same question and they said we were fine to be out in the community and it was just my wife who had to stay in the room.”
