Chairperson of Chapel Street Precinct Justin O’Donnell says Victoria’s eased restrictions are “fantastic” and exactly what the state needed just before Christmas.
Victorian Premier Daniel is further lifting restrictions after the state reached 37 days without any new COVID-19 cases.
Restrictions will be eased regarding home gatherings, the use of masks and moving toward a system of density limits rather than caps on the numbers of people at hospitality venues.
Mr O’Donnell said the recent changes have given small businesses “hope” they might be able to make it through after all.
“The early signs are fantastic; people are coming out, they’re supporting local like never before, and it’s exactly what our businesses needed,” he said.
