While governments ‘shift blame’ the ‘big losers’ are farmers and irrigators

Sky News host Peter Gleeson says while the federal government and state governments shift blame over water-saving infrastructure projects, the big losers are farmers and irrigators.

“This is just plain ludicrous. We are Australia. We are the most drought-exposed country in the world,” he said.

“How politicians, those in the states, can be so recalcitrant that they put the welfare of farmers and those relying on water in jeopardy because of poor decision-making has got me beat.

“It’s time to put the egos aside and get on with proper water provision.”

Eight infrastructure projects are at risk of delay and three projects in Victoria.
