Sky News host Andrew Bolt says Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan is a “goose”.
His comments come as Perth undergoes a five-day lockdown following the detection of an outbreak which came out of hotel quarantine.
Under the new full lockdown there are only four reasons to leave one’s home which include essential shopping, medical or healthcare needs – including compassionate requirements – exercise for only one hour with one other person, and work if you cannot work at home.
“All this because of just one worker – a single security guard at the hotel got the virus. And Premier Mark McGowan today admitted this guard had in fact passed it on to no one that they’ve so far found,” Mr Bolt said.
“There’s plenty we could say about this fiasco, this total fiasco.”
Mr Bolt questioned whether shutting down a city is “really the best way to deal with a small outbreak”.
“The New South Wales premier, who does try to keep her state open and still fight the virus, could not believe Perth was shut down and she refused herself to ban travellers from WA,” he said.
“That’s why Gladys Berejiklian is Australia’s best premier and why Mark McGowan is a goose.”
