States should ‘contribute to spending’ at cut-price flight destinations

Broadcaster Luke Grant says there should have been a condition on destinations applicable for half price flights such as states not closing borders or contributing to local spending.

Mr Grant said if this did not happen people were not likely to take advantage of the scheme as they are too worried about being stranded in other state.

“If they’re genuine about stimulating tourism and it’s targeted for destinations that would normally get lots of international tourists that surely the states have to come to play as well and contribute to the ground spend,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
