Broadcaster Luke Grant says the continuation of the Australian Open despite the COVID-19 case in Melbourne makes average Australians feel like there is a double standard.
“If you’re an average Australian wanting to get about, an average Australian wanting to get home tough luck there,” he told Sky News host Rowan Dean.
“If you’re a tennis player, or a you’re a movie star, or a musical performer, welcome to Australia.”
Mr Grant said state premiers need to be reined in as the Australian Open is going ahead with community backlash and the Queensland and New South Wales border war.
“The premiers are out of control but we knew that, didn’t we?”
