Queensland’s Integrity Commissioner has warned of issues which are emerging within the state’s political lobbying laws and has requested a review be undertaken.
The Courier Mail is reporting Integrity Commissioner Nikola Stepanov has asked for an comprehensive review of lobbyist provisions amid an “extraordinary and sustained” demand for her counsel.
Sky News contributor Daisy Cousens commented, “I think only good things can come on this”.
“We really do need transparency from governments and politicians when it comes to lobbyists and lobbying laws,” she said.
“These politicians, they do work for us, I feel that sometimes they forget that and every so often they need to be reminded of that.”
