New South Wales Police say they’ve been “generally pleased” with the behaviour of New Year’s Eve revellers across the state.
Just 5,000 New Year’s Eve passes were scanned to enter the Green Zone in the CBD.
The majority of the state was well-behaved and celebrated safely with a few exceptions.
Police issued seven $1,000 fines to individuals and five, $5,000 infringement notices to businesses.
Across the state, 219 arrests were made and 290 charges laid for various offences.
