Liberal MP Jason Falinski says it is not surprising the COVID-19 testing numbers in New South Wales are so high because the state government treats adults like adults rather than inmates, and people reciprocate that trust.
New South Wales recorded nine new cases of coronavirus overnight from 60,000 tests to 8pm Wednesday.
“It’s not surprising to see that there is the level and distribution that you’re seeing at the moment, especially in the CBD,” Mr Falinski told Sky News host Catherine McGregor.
“I think we’ve had one of the best track and trace systems in the world in New South Wales.
“The numbers are high because the government treats adults like adults and not like inmates.
“People reciprocate that trust by going out and doing their duty in trying to keep this most virulent virus under control.”
