Victoria’s new Parks and Crown Land Legislation Amendment bill is the “cancellation” of property owners’ rights, according to Sky News host Peta Credlin.
The bill, amended by the Andrews government late in 2020, allows camping on river-fronting crown land licenced by a farmer “whether the farmer likes it or not,” according to Ms Credlin.
“Under these laws campers do not need the permission of farmers or land holders, who lease crown land, to use that land,” she said.
“This is extraordinary, this a cancellation of property owners’ rights.”
Ms Credlin spoke with Victorian Liberal MP Beverley McArthur and farmer Al Coulson about the issue.
