Mexico records 3,000 new COVID-19 cases

Mexico has reported more than 3,000 new COVID cases bringing the country’s total confirmed infections to more than 2.2 million.

There have also been 190 more deaths recorded and the government says real case numbers are likely to be significantly higher as is the death toll.

The Mexican government said the actual death toll is likely to be at least 60 per cent higher than the confirmed figure of almost 204,000 people.

Mexico began vaccinating adults over the age of 60 last month and plans on inoculating more of the elderly by April.
