Sky News contributor Jane Marwick says West Australian Premier Mark McGowan’s decision to skip National Cabinet to avoid being in the same room as South Australia Premier Stephen Marshall is purely “populism”.
Her comment comes regarding a recent report in the West Australian which revealed WA Premier Mark McGowan would skip National Cabinet to avoid being in the same room as Premier Steven Marshall because South Australia still has COVID-19 cases.
“Even McGowan’s critics have said, ‘at least he’s consistent’,” Ms Marwick told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“He knows the population of Western Australia; he knows it’s worked well for him.
“It’s populism, we’ve got the election in March, this has worked like an absolute treat for McGowan.”
