McGowan announces Perth and Peel to enter snap three-day lockdown

Western Australia Premier Mark McGowan has announced that Perth and Peel will enter a snap three-day lockdown until midnight on Monday following a COVID-19 outbreak from hotel quarantine.

“We’ve gone more than 12 months of no community transmission and our lives in Western Australia have been normal compared with what we’ve seen around the world,” he said.

“We need to do everything we can to protect our way of life. That’s why, from midnight tonight, Perth and Peel will enter a three-day lockdown over the long weekend until midnight on Monday night.”
