Deloitte Access Economics Partner Chris Richardson has discussed with Sky News as to whether Australia is at risk of losing its triple A credit rating in the future.
On Tuesday, Victoria’s triple A credit rating was downgraded to a double A rating, whilst New South Wales also suffered a similar fate with its rating being downgraded to double A-plus.
Mr Richardson said interestingly, markets “weren’t that fussed” when Victoria and New South Wales lost that triple A rating.
Mr Richardson said he doesn’t think Australia will lose its triple A rating.
“If we do, we would still be absolutely at the front of the queue as far as international investors are concerned”.
