Lashing rain and severe thunderstorms strike parts of New South Wales

Severe thunderstorms are sweeping across New South Wales, bringing heavy rainfall and damaging winds.

Storms dumped more than 30 millimetres of rain in 30 minutes across parts of Sydney on Monday evening.

Hail fell in Dubbo, while parts of the South Coast were hammered by more than 50 millimetres of rain in 30 minutes.

The threat of severe storms will return to eastern parts of the state again on Tuesday.
