Treasurer Josh Frydenberg’s big ticket item to boost employment out of COVID was the $200 a week payment for employers for new roles created for the jobless and under 30.

But it gave rise to an obvious criticism, that it incentivises bosses to replace older workers with younger, cheaper ones. Dan Ziffer reports.
