Sky News host Rowan Dean says he is completely “gobsmacked” a “so-called liberal government” has passed “basically green legislation” in New South Wales.
It comes after New South Wales upper house MPs passed renewable electricity legislation after a 30-hour parliamentary sitting.
The bill – which aims to invest $32 billion in renewable energy infrastructure to 2030 – passed through the upper house with bipartisan support from Labor and the Greens.
“But it gets worse, then we have Scott Morrison on his G20 Zoom climate conference,” Mr Dean said.
Mr Dean also spoke with broadcaster Luke Grant about the issue.
“Matt Kean – of the left. New South Wales Liberals you can only assume – of the left,” Mr Grant said.
“I reckon if every Liberal was given the opportunity just to spend a moment reflecting, would they all agree that this was sensible policy?”
“I think many would probably find trouble in that.”
