Senior Democrats have sought to urge Vice President Mike Pence to consider invoking the 25th Amendment and force Donald Trump’s removal from office.

Meanwhile a non-scalable wall has been erected around the Capitol building in Washington D.C. which will stay up until after inauguration.

As a result of the violence scenes which broke out while US Congress was working to certify Joe Biden’s presidential election win, a concerted effort from the Democrats to invoke the 25th Amendment is being seen.

Though there is just under two weeks to go until inauguration day, the Democrats consider it a threat for Donald Trump to remain in office.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer have both attempted to call Mike Pence and encourage him to remove the president, however they were both reportedly left on hold.

Democrats have said if the 25th Amendment is not enacted, they will move to impeach President Trump.
