COVID patients reach record highs in US as 121,000 people have been hospitalised

The number of people being admitted into hospital with COVID-19 in the United States has reached record highs as 121,000 people have sought treatment.

New data revealed COVID-19 accounted for 40 per cent of ICU patients last week compared to just 16 per cent in September.

Los Angeles County in California has been hit especially hard with 100,000 new cases reported in a week, or ten new cases a minute.
