Anthony Albanese ‘hasn’t got the stocks’ to continue being Labor leader

Sky News host Peter Gleeson says he does not think Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has “got long at all” before he is replaced as Labor leader.

Mr Gleeson said the seats most likely to determine the outcome of an election are in coal mining areas which do not align with climate change policy which is being introduced by Labor.

“The Labor party in this country is tying itself in knots on climate change policy related to the ability of coal miners to retain their jobs,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

Mr Gleeson also said Tanya Plibersek will “probably be leader” by the middle of the year as Mr Albanese does not have the support needed.

“Albanese just hasn’t got the stocks and he’s surrounded by people unfortunately who are not going to support him going forward.”
