American stimulus increase to be debated in the House of Representatives

Millions of Americans are in line to receive another stimulus check from the government, however the amount they will receive is up for debate in the House of Representatives.

It comes after President Donald Trump signed a $2.3 trillion coronavirus relief bill which included a $600 payment for Americans, but the president wanted the figure immediately raised to $2,000 per person.

American Senator Chuck Schumer is in favour of raising the amount of money but is worried there is no bipartisan support for the amended Bill.

“Every Senate Democrat is for it but unfortunately we don’t have the Republicans on board,” he said.
