The surge in complaints follows former Liberal Party staffer Brittany Higgins going public with her claim of being raped by a colleague in a minister’s parliamentary office.

Today the Federal Police Commissioner wrote to the Prime Minister warning delays by politicians reporting future allegations could potentially pervert the course of justice.
