ABC has been ‘hoist by its own petard’ on identity politics agenda

The Institute of Public Affairs’ Gideon Rozner says the ABC have signed up “hook, line and sinker” to the identity politics agenda, but now they are being hoist by their own petard.

It comes as the ABC undergoes scrutiny for lack of diversity in photos from their program launch which showed only white on-air presenters.

One former ABC worker, Osman Faruqi, noted the fact in a tweet which reads, “Do the people who run ABC News not understand how weird this looks?”

“I couldn’t care less what skin pigmentation all these people have, but the ABC does,” Mr Rozner told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“They’re being hoist by their own petard; I don’t have any sympathy for them.”

Mr Rozner said the “funniest thing” about the ABC is “that all the talk about diversity and inclusion – they mean skin-deep things”.

“But when it comes to diversity of thought, of opinion, of perspective … that’s absolutely nowhere to be found,” he said.

“They completely reject the need for it at all.”
